About The Unseen Words Project: Go Fast and Go Far

pencil stubThis project is about writing.  It is about you.  It is about thinking and feeling and soul searching and writing about what swims to the surface.  It is about being bold and being fearless.  It is about delighting in what you reveal about your own self.

It is about a journey that only you can take.  Thomas Jefferson wrote: “One travels more usefully when alone, because he reflects more.”  Rudyard Kipling wrote: “He travels the fastest who travels alone.”  Both of these quotes give us good advice.  When traveling into the interiors of our souls, travel alone.  Take the leap of faith.  Just jump.  With both feet.  Write with your feet.

And then there is an African saying that echoes the sentiments of Jefferson and Kipling . . . with an added bit of life wisdom: “If you want to go fast, go alone.  If you want to go far, go together.”  Take the steps.  Write with your feet.

The intent of these prompts is to encourage you to “go fast” as you go deep into your own self.

It is also an invitation to you to join together with us as a writing community . . .  so that we can go together and “go far.”  There is much strength in joining hands.

This project is also about realizing your dreams.  Your deepest, gigantic-est dreams.  Truly.  It is so do-able.  If we only knew the extent of our power and our ability to be amazing, we would step aside of our “presentable selves” and let our dreams take the controls. This project  is about unveiling what lies behind the layers of gauze:  the day-to-day moments that govern our thoughts and our actions.   We reveal who we are through the written word.  It takes a lot of mental and emotional and soulful energy to commit words to the page.

Let us journey together and go far.
